BASIC LIFE SUPPORT  for Healthcare Providers & Professional Rescuers

AHA BLS

Students will receive an American Heart Association BLS Provider certification ecard (valid for two years) upon successful completion of this class (there is both a physical skills test and a written test required). This program is appropriate for professional rescuers: nurses, EMTs, dental / doctor's office staff, and many other healthcare professionals. There are no prerequisites for this course. Non-healthcare providers are welcome to enroll in the BLS Provider class.

EMS Professionals: Once you have claimed your certification card, you will be able to log into your AHA account to claim CE credits.

 Testing:  Skills test required.  No written test during skills lab.

​For those students who have already completed the online Heart code BLS Provider (blended) portion and only need the mandatory hands-on session (skills portion) of the course. Online certificate of completion must be emailed to bigdzzcpr@yahoo.com within 24 hours prior to start of class. 

 Blended learning is a combination of eLearning, in which a student completes part of the training in a self-directed manner, followed by a hands-on session. The following link will direct you to the AHA website where you can take the online (classroom) portion of this class and receive your certificate of completion. The online portion is on your own with direct payment to the AHA.

BASIC LIFE SUPPORT Renewal 

You must have a current American Heart Association BLS Provider card to enroll in this course.  

The BLS Provider RENEWAL Course refreshes students currently certified in BLS in the CPR skills for helping victims of all ages, including providing ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device with oxygen, and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED); and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction. Intended for licensed and non-licensed healthcare professionals.  Course Length: 2 hours, Cost is $74.
